Villagers are listening to the lectures carefully in the training session.
The Wetland·Yangtze River Training Scheme was launched in 2012. We cooperate with several wetland reserves and parks along Yangtze River. It is an excellent solution to incorporate and strengthen the work of wetland conservation and promotion of public awareness. And finally provide high-quality participants to engage in wetland conservation.
Local villagers who are dedicated nature lovers and are willing to contribute to the society through participating wetland conservation activities are welcome to this scheme. A series of training sessions are organized to equip people with adequate knowledge and skills to meet service requirement and quality. The training sessions include basic knowledge on wetlands, guided interpretation in wetland reserve and exhibition galleries, and interpretation skills. Trainings on identification skills on birds, dragonflies, butterflies, amphibians and reptiles, as well as mammals are also organized. All of these build up and professionalize participants’ capacity to provide services on wetland conservation. After the training sessions, the participants will be assessed in both relevant knowledge and service skills. Then, the excellent participants will gain the opportunities to work in local wetland reserves or parks.
This scheme is a good opportunity to learn about wetland ecology, involve in wetland conservation works, and serve the society.
